Spring Into Action: A Virtual Fundraiser for Shepherd's Table

May 9, 2020 @ 11:00AM — 12:00PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Due to Covid-19, we had to quickly adapt our programs to continue serving our clients, while postponing our annual fundraiser that raises over $160,000. With the support of The Embassy of the State of Qatar's $25,000 matching gift, we are excited to present this virtual opportunity to raise funds for our programs while connecting with supporters, old and new!

Support Shepherd’s Table while learning how to start your own home garden! Event Registration is included with all donations.

There are currently no tickets available for this event, but you can still make a donation.

Support a special live online event on Saturday, May 9, 11am - noon to help meet the community's need for meals and basic services that are critical during this challenging time. As our staff and volunteers continue serving our community's most vulnerable- people experiencing homelessness and living in poverty, we appreciate your gift, of any size, in support of our continued services.

Help us meet the $25,000 match offered by The Embassy of the State of Qatar- to bridge the gap left by the postponed spring fundraiser.

Shepherd’s Table staff and board members will beam into your home joined by:

  • Jenny Brown, Montgomery County Master Gardener and Audubon Naturalist Society’s Garden Programs Manager, who will guide you in starting your own garden -- indoors or out.
  • Hannah Sholder, Director of Land Stewardship and Farm Management, CKC Farming*, will discuss growing your own food as part of a local food economy conversation.
  • Chef Christina Moore will show you around Shepherd's Table's new urban garden that will grow even more fresh produce for our meal services.

Your support will help Shepherd’s Table meet increased demand and increased costs from converting our chef-prepared, hot healthy meals to fresh, hot, “to-go” meals. We are now serving 350 meals a day, and providing vital services in the Resource Center for anyone in need.

With unemployment rising, so is the need for basic services.

When you register, you will have the option to select a tax-deductible contribution amount ranging from $25 to $1,000.

If you can't make the event, a donation is greatly appreciated!

Remember, your gift will be DOUBLED thanks to a matching gift from The Embassy of the State of Qatar, up to $25,000. Thanks for helping us meet the match!

CKC Farming manages and preserves urban farms for the purpose of training the next generation of sustainable food innovators. We envision a network of urban farms around the DC metro area where people can reconnect with the land, their food, and with each other.
